Silk Scarf Handwoven by Liz Calnan

I love the challenge of the design process, which is done using weaving software. Once I had the motif of a small circle in twill on a background of plain weave complete, I started to move it around and across the work 4 threads at a time.  I didnt want it static and I didnt want it organised in a set pattern, so this is my "slightly tipsy" scarf.  Now its how I feel after a single glass, but you dont need that when you are designing!  I like the effect of 2 different sides to the fabric.

Materials:  All silk, Warp is commercially dyed, weft is hand dyed

Size: Width 23.5 cm, length 180cm
