"Rust Stripes" Hand dyed silk chiffon shawl by Neelam Singhal. My inspiration was to design with paisley and stripes using a Shibori method. I folded the chiffon fabric lengthwise into half of its width. I drew the design with a tailor's chalk, then stitched over each line. Followed by gathering the stitching, doing discharge and dyeing with brick and black acid dyes. Finished the beautiful, soft, flowing shawl by hand hemming the two sides' edges.
Size: 106 cm x 215 cm
Care: Gentle/ Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry Shibori pieces in indirect sunlight. Warm Iron.
