Wall Hanging hand painted on silk by Jane Hinde

Swamp Banksia - The wallhanging is hand painted on Crepe Satin using silk dyes that have been steam fixed to make fast to washing and light. Using a combination of batik and traditional silk painting, a colour wash is applied first, then clear gutta (wax resist) drawn over with the final painting using rich colours. The black background is textured using salt crystals.

Hemmed and hanging from wooden dowel with cord attached for hanging.

Light and easy to roll up into a post tube.

Size:  53 x 105 cm

Care: Remove silk from the dowel rods and hand wash in warm water.                           Iron from the reverse side whilst damp. May be dry cleaned if no coloured gutta has been used. Check individual piece instructions regarding gutta.
