"Pitha Pitha 1" hand carved by Hape Kiddle

"Pitha Pitha 1" (Möbius) hand carved in Tasmanian Myrtle Beech by Hape Kiddle.
Pitha Pitha is an aboriginal word for rain drops. In Māori it is pata pata, and English pitter patter. I have combined the möbius, an en-ending form that is one sided and yet dimensional, with the water droplet form. For it is in the rain that brings forth the cycle of life.
Size: 370 x 200 x 65 mm
