Outback Oasis 1 - Inspired by an image of Carnarvon Gorge, Queensland, Australia, is Hand painted on Crepe Satin using silk dyes that have been steam fixed to make fast to washing and light. Silver gutta (wax resist) outlines have been drawn on, then painted with silk dyes using various watercolour techniques.
Light in weight enough to hang in a window. When lit from behind the silk colours glow like stained-glass.
Hemmed and hanging from wooden dowel.
As an extension of the same scene it could be paired with Outback Oasis 2
Size: 53 x 105 cm
Care: Remove silk from the dowel rods and hand wash in warm water. Iron from the reverse side whilst damp. May be dry cleaned if no coloured gutta has been used. Check individual piece instructions regarding gutta.
