Wooden marquetry box “Silky Leaves” hand made by Jo Ann Hopkins

Wooden marquetry box hand made by Jo Ann Hopkins. I call this box “Silky Leaves” because the box is made of silky oak which is a lovely wood to work.    The leaves and background of the top of the box are made with a variety of veneers.  The marquetry design is from a botanical art painting of gum leaves I painted recently.  The box has a tray in it so it can be used for a jewellery box or a box for your desk or to put special letters or documents in.  It also looks good just sitting on a table!  The bottom of the tray and the bottom of the box are lined in dark grey velvet.

244 mm x 152 mm x 77 mm

Clean wood with a good quality furniture polish and buff with a soft cloth.  Keep out of direct sunlight.
