 About Chris

I am a Sydney based embroiderer, specialising in cross-stitch. My interest began in the 1970’s with a visit to the Danish Handcraft Guild in Sydney.

I enjoy creating detailed pictures and patterns on fabric and work mainly on linen using Danish Flower Thread and DMC stranded cotton. The inclusion of metallic and blended cottons, beads, buttons, and charms has made cross-stitch more enjoyable and challenging.

Recently I have been stitching on different media such as flyscreen wire and metal strainers. Australian themes such as wildflowers, birds and animals work well in cross-stitch. I prefer to use a fine linen base which results in intricate and detailed pieces.
