Waratahs - iconic Australian native flora & emblem of state of NSW. The wallhanging is hand painted on Crepe Satin using silk dyes that have been steam fixed to make fast to washing and light. Using a combination of batik and traditional water colour techniques, a silver gutta (wax resist)outline is drawn onto the silk, then hand painted with silk dyes.
Hemmed and hanging from wooden dowel with cord attached for hanging. Light and easy to roll up into a post tube.
Size: 53 x 105 cm
Care: Remove silk from the dowel rods and hand wash in warm water. Iron from the reverse side whilst damp. May be dry cleaned if no coloured gutta has been used. Check individual piece instructions regarding gutta.
