Terracotta and black tabard by Neelam Singhal

Terracotta ad black tabard by Neelam Singhal.

I began with a terracotta fabric, using folding and clamping as well as tying Shibori methods to complete the design. Then I dyed it with a black cotton dye and was pleasantly surprised to see the reveal after unclamping and opening the piece. I hand embroidered in a simple open blanket embroidery stitch around the neck for a special look to this classic yet contemporary tabard.

The silk side ties are long enough to suit your choice of fitting, loose or tight. I really enjoyed making this one for you.

Size: 101.5 cm centre back length x 67 cm across back width (edge to edge) x 2 cm front length

Care: Hand wash/gentle wash in cold water with mild detergent; no bleach. Dry under indirect sunlight, warm iron.

Fabric: Viscose. Neck trim is linen, side ties are in Japanese silk Ikat fabric.
