Hand Sculpted Octopus Pendant Cast in Sterling Silver
Size of Octopus:48mm long, 29mm across and 13mm front to back,
Solid sterling silver, with black oxidisation, and a chain length of 60cm.
Weight: approximately 27 grams
I was inspired to sculpt this piece as it resembles a deep connection I have to my upbringing in Tonga, by the ocean. I would often spot them while swimming or wandering the rock pools. The octopus is also a figure in Tonga folk law and I loved hearing the legend as a child.
18K Gold Bee Pendant- a Precious Piece
Material and Inspiration: I have cast the piece in gold to bring focus to the value and preciousness of these tiny creatures to nature and our well-being. This beautiful necklace was hand sculpted and cast in solid 18kt yellow gold (14.5grams) and hand finished. The pendant comes with a 50cm chain in 9kt yellow gold and is beautifully presented in a glossy white timber jewellery box.

Hayley is an island girl at heart. She was raised on the shores of the pacific island Tongatapu by a family of artists and that is where she draws much of her inspiration from when creating her pieces. Hayley moved back to Australia at the age of 17, to study at Griffith University and has received a BA double major in Screen Production and Art Theory.
An accomplished Australian film industry sculptor, Hayley spent over 12 years working for people such as Baz Lurman, Cathryn Martin, Ridley Scott on films staring talent such as Hugh Jackman, Mathew McConaughey, Leonardo Dicaprio, Michael Fassbender… to drop a few names! She was also awarded the Griffith Film School Alumnus of the Year award in 2013 for Outstanding Achievement in the Australian Film Industry.
This year 2021, marks the 8th year Hayley has run hayley egan, her innovative product design and art production business. Bringing her techniques from film industry work to private clients in the interior design industry, creating sculptural installations, producing a whimsical collection of sculptural lamps and chandeliers as well as hand sculpted pendants cast in silver and gold.
